I’ve just been sent this handsome
book (to which I contributed the bulk of a chapter: the final expression of the
thoughts I seem to have had several times last year) on psychiatric diagnosis edited by the members of the WPA A-team (Salloum and Mezzich). There looks to be some interesting empirical material though, as the chapters are very short, it is more of an introduction to a number of overlapping issues (especially relevant because the revisions to DSM and ICD diagnostic systems) than an in-depth treatment.
By the way, the book has that nice coffee-cup-resistant shiny hard cover which perhaps goes some way to justify the price.
